		<description><![CDATA[CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Following 12 inches of new snow since Monday, January 18, Sugarloaf opened its fabled backside snowfields to skiers and riders today for the first time this season. Sugarloaf's snowfields offer skiers and riders wide open, above treeline expanses and dramatic pitches unlike any other terrain in the East.

		<description><![CDATA[CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Light snow over the past two and a half days has resulted in 10 inches of new snow at Sugarloaf, leaving the resort nearly 100 percent open with the best conditions so far this season, according to resort officials.  
  
Three inches of snow fell during the day on Monday Jan 18, followed by another three inches on Tuesday, and four inches overnight Tuesday night.
